Rousse is the largest Bulgarian city along the Danube. It is situated on the north-eastern border of Romania with Romania. The motto of Rousse is “City of the Free Spirit”

Ruse is one of the cities in Bulgaria that attract both its magnificent architecture and its rich historical past. Rousse is often referred to as “Little Vienna” because of the numerous monuments of culture in whose architecture the styles of Neo-Baroque, Modern, Neoclassic and Secession are covered. Symbols of the city are the Profitable Building and the Monument of Freedom. Rousse is a town with a 20-year history that begins with the construction of a Thracian settlement, the successor of which during the Roman times became the fortress Sexaginta Prista.
