Burgas

Burgas is the largest city in Southeastern Bulgaria.

Several nature reserves and protected areas, ancient and medieval settlements, the Black Sea and the annual festivals attract many tourists. The Bourgas Cathedral, named after the Byzantine theologians, Cyril and Methodius, and the Protected Site of Poda, are among the 100 national tourist sites. The Monastery of St. Anastasia on the island of the same name in the waters of the Bourgas Bay is the only preserved medieval island monastery in the Black Sea.
